The Image Project

IMAGE provides access to CSU collections of images for teaching and research. The collection includes images for the art history survey and historical images from a wide variety of fields, including political and cultural history, anthropology, biology, medicine and technology. Plans are to add image collections which concentrate on specific subject areas. Access to the collection is currently available through the WorldImages Database.

WorldImages Database
Faculty, staff and students of the California State University System have created this searchable database which contains more than 50,000 images from throughout the world. Images are free when used for non-profit educational purposes, with appropriate credit given to the copyright holders who retain all rights to the images.

CIELO images (art and architecture images for 1st year courses) have been incorporated into the WorldImages Database as permitted by the owner. Owners who would like their images included can contact Kathleen Cohen:
